Martyred intellectuals’ Day observed at IU



Martyred Intellectuals’ Day was observed at Islamic University (IU), marking one of the most tragic days in the country’s history when the Pakistani army and its local collaborations brutally killed the intellectuals to cripple the intellectuals to cripple the nation days before history in 1971.

The educationists, doctors,  lawyers,  journalists and artists who were a guiding light for the Bengali people as well as instrumental in the mass movements against disparity and repressive measures of the Pakistani rulers, thus contributing to the Liberation War.

Marking the day, IU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof M Shahinoor Rahman alongwith IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif placed floral wreaths at university’s monument.

After that, different political, teachers, social and cultural organizations paid their homage placing wreaths.
