Welcome to Eastern News Agency.

Before I deliver my speech I would like to notify the Bangladesh New Generation that Eastern News Agency came into existence after two decades of political suppression and is on the way of “Information Super High way” to provide services just like before and it will play the voice of Bangladesh before Globalization.

As we all know that Eastern News Agency’ established in the year March 1968. It developed into a full-fledged news agency before the outbreak of the War of Liberation.

Since the inception of Pakistan, East Pakistan (Now Independent Sovereign more precisely Bangladesh) news agency was a far cry.It was considered imperative such information powerhouse manned & managed by local Bangladesh Journalism expertise should emerge primarily for providing complete news agency infrastructure in the part of the Great Country Bangladesh.

Eastern News Agency earned appreciation of the people for its role during the eventful years of 1970-71. Consequently, it incurred the wrath of the military government of Pakistan in 1971 and the services of the agency remained suspended during the entire period of the War of Liberation. Its services were resumed in 1972.

Golam Rasul Malliick with his fleet of Journalist took the initiative and had dialogue with the great Leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who declared with Letter of Certificate that Eastern News Agency is the First national News Agency of Bangladesh with the aims to have free flow freedom of expression and will also project national news before the world objectively.

Thus, ENA took birth in the year 1968 and officially declared national news agency in the year 1972 signed by the Father of the nation evidently. Mr.Golam Rasul Mallick name and contribution to the cause of liberation war as media intellectual is recorded.

On Contrary , I would like to take the opportunity and liberty and being thankful to all to make Eastern News Agency in existence and at the same time to march forward for rightful practice of democracy & freedom of expression with full rules of procedure. At the same time I am grateful to all quarters to extend supports and at the same time I promise to Bangladesh that Eastern News Agency will be the voice of Bangladesh people and will play a lead role as like before now and in the future as well. Taking this opportunity I will say good bye to all and at the same time I will encourage the subscriber , the technical people , the developer and everyone to unite to-gather and lets built a tomorrow for better future.
