Bangabandhu Marathon in Jan

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon 2021 is going to be held on 10 January next year, said ISPR.

Bangladesh Army will organize the mega event in collaboration with the National Implementation Committee for Celebrating the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation. Armed Forces Division is coordinating the marathon with the approval of the Prime Minister. 

As part of the event, the organizing committee made this announcement at a ‘Meet the Press’ event at Dhaka Cantonment Multipurpose Complex in the city.

Under the overall direction and encouragement of Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed, Bangladesh Army is acting as the main organizer of the marathon event.

The organizing committee announced that although many marathons have been held in the country earlier, this time the event is going to be an international standard marathon for the first time. Renowned local and foreign runners will participate in this marathon. 

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon 2021′ is going to be held in both men’s and women’s divisions. The marathon will start from Army Stadium on January 10 in 2021 at 0730 am and will end in Hatirjheel area. The marathon will be conducted in three categories.

People from all over the world, including Bangladesh, can participate in the digital marathon by registering through mobile apps. Runners will complete the race at their own time between 10 January 2021 and 06 March 2021 at a convenient location. The digital marathon will include 5km, 10km, half and full marathons.
