Purchase Committee approves 12 proposals; Govt to procure 6.25 lakh MTs fertilizer
DHAKA, Dec 2, 2020 (BSS) – The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) today approved a total of 12 proposals including two separate ones for procuring 6.25 lakh metric tons of fertilizer.
The approval came from the 33rd meeting of the CCGP in this year held virtually today with Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting virtually, Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Dr Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal said the meeting okayed a proposal under which 6 lakh metric tons of DAP fertilizer would be procured in line with the state-level agreement between MA’ADEN, Saudi Arabia and BADC with a cost of around Taka 2,097.98 crore.
The meeting approved another proposal for procuring 25,000 metric tons of bulk prield (optional) urea fertilizer under the 7th lot from Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat), QPJSC Qatar for the current fiscal year following a state-level agreement with a cost of around Taka 54.69 crore.
Saleh informed that the CCGP meeting gave nod to another proposal for procuring 50,000 metric tons of non-basmati rice through international quotation from M/S PK Agrilink Private Limited of Birbhum, West Bengal, India with around Taka 176.38 crore. The price of per KG rice will be Taka 35.27 while the per metric ton rice is $416.
The meeting approved the joint venture bids of National Development Engineers Limited, Taher Brothers Limited and Hasan Techno Builders Limited with around Taka 266.15 crore for accomplishing the works under the package no WP-01 of the project for upgrading the Karnaphuli tunnel connecting road including Anwara upazila connecting road into four-lane (Shikalbaha-Anwara national highway).
Besides, the meeting approved a proposal for accomplishing the delegated work under the project for constructing nine residential tower buildings for Bangladesh Police in different parts of the country by the lowest bidders Desh Unnayan Limited and M/S Haque Enterprise Limited with an expenditure of around Taka 64.12 crore.
Another proposal for procuring 54.50 million cycle oral tablets from the Techno Drug Limited and Renata Limited under the 5th lot with a cost of around Taka 272.50 crore was approved in the meeting. Besides, the meeting gave nod to another proposal under which Belgium-based company Jan De Nul will conduct the dredging operations and emergency maintenance at the Rabnabad Channel of Payra Port with a cost of Taka 408.87 crore.
Apart from this, the meeting approved one proposal from the Power Division and four separate procurement proposals from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
Dr Saleh said under the Power Division, Energypac Engineering Limited, Bangladesh will install three turn-key basis substations, Development of six substations and extension of three bays under lot-4, package no GD 1 of the project titled “Power Distribution System Development Project; Mymensingh Zone” with a cost of around Taka 70.53 crore.
The CCGP meeting approved another proposal for procuring project management and contract management services for additional 12 months by the ILF Consulting Engineers, Germany for accomplishing the fresh works under the project titled “Installation of Single Point Mooring (SPM) with double pipeline” with around Taka 72.25 crore.
The day’s meeting okayed another proposal for installing pipelines on deep post trenching method by the EPC China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Company Limited at Kutubdia and Matarbari approach channels under the same project titled “Installation of Single Point Mooring (SPM) with double pipeline” with around Taka 472.42 crore.
Besides, the meeting approved another proposal for awarding the bids to recommended consulting firms Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions Corporation (TGES), Japan and Nippon Koei Co. Ltd (NK), Japan JV for the works ranging from feasibility study to RFP evaluation of Terminal Developer Selection with Taka 43 crore for setting up land-based LNG Terminal at Matarbari in Moheshkhali.
Apart from this, the meeting gave nod to a proposal for procuring additional 40,000 metric tons of Octane 95 RON from Emirates National Oil Company Limited, Singapore for this December with Taka 129.63 crore.
