Protest against attacks on minority groups in Dhaka



Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad on Saturday staged demonstration against recently carried out attacks on minority groups across the country.

The leader and activists of the organization brought out a procession from Dhaka’s Shahbagh area at noon. Protestors at the procession chanted slogans demanding to stop communal attacks, misuse of Facebook which provokes the attacks.

The procession began from in front of the National Museum and ended at Dhaka Club premises at about 12.30pm.

Speakers at the programme alleged that they were living with uncertainty as the government was failed to provide them security.

Asking authorities concerned to take measures to stop attacks on minorities, they further said the attacks carried out after spreading rumors of hurting in religious sentiment.

Ten organizations from minority groups under the banner of Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad joined the protest.

The organization president Dr Sonali Das, presidium member Sadan Kumar Mandal and vice president Mithu Ranjan Dev, among others, spoke in the programme.
