Will not allow ‘my man’ committee: Quader to party leaders



Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday asked his party’s rank and file not to form any committee comprised of ‘my man’ to increase power of the ones’ circle.

“Don’t form a committee with your favorable one for strengthening the power of own circle. Honor your dedicated activists rather neglecting them. If you made their way smooth then they will stand for the party during hard time,” said Quader while addressing an extended meeting of Manikganj district unit AL from his residence through video conference in the morning.

Emphasising on organisation’s unity Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said “We should be united to have strong public support for the party.”

He asked the party fellow people to remain prior alert on communal evil force, drug addict and listed criminals.

About November 7, Quader said, “General Zia was direct beneficiary from November 7. He killed numerous valiant freedom fighter Army officials under the banner of National Revolution and Solidarity Day.”

Many incidents were happened from November 3 to 7 in 1975 to push the country backward and under the achievement and spirit of Liberation War, said the minister.

It is the high time to unearth the unknown information of the history through investigation, he added.

Quader said the roots of the Awami League are deeply rooted in this soil, and mass people of the country are the root of the party.

Manikgang district unit AL president advocate Golam Mohiuddin presided over the programme where AL presidium member Dr Abdur Razzak, joint general secretary Dr Dipu Moni, organising secretary Mirza Azam, Health Minister Zahid Maleque, Naimur Rahman Durjoy MP, Momtaz Begum MP and Manikgang district unit AL general secretary Abdus Salam were present.
