A total of 1, 61,807 students have achieved GPA-5 in last year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations.
In 2019, 47,286 students got GPA-5.
The results was announced from International Mother Language Institute in the capital on Saturday morning.
Education Minister Dipu Moni received a summary of the results on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the chairmen of the education boards.
This year, the GPA-5 rate has risen to 11.83 per cent from 3.54 per cent in the previous year.
All the students have passed the HSC and equivalent assessments of 2020, which were graded without holding the exams due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In Rajshahi board, a total of 26,568 students secured GPA-5, 57,926 in Dhaka Board, 12,143 in Chattogram Board, 4,242 in Sylhet Board, 14,871 in Dinajpur Board, 9364 in Cumilla Board, 12,892 in Jashore Board, 5,568 in Barishal Board, 10,040 in Mymensingh Board, 4,048 in Madrasah Board and 4,145 in Technical Education Board.
