World Leaders laud Sheikh Hasina’s leadership: Shabab Uddin

MOULVIBAZAR, Nov 5, 2020 (BSS) – Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin today said Bangladesh is advancing fast towards development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“Many development programmes were completed while many others are going on. Seeing the development of Bangladesh, the world leaders are praising Sheikh Hasina’s leadership,” he said.

Shahab Uddin said this while addressing a function on the occasion of laying foundation stones of two 60-metre bridges at Brindar Ghat and Koylaghat points here, a ministry press release said.

Earlier, he also spoke at the inaugural programme of a Tk 12-crore Jangirai Bridge on Rajnagar-Kulaura-Juri-Baralekha regional highway in Juri Upazila.

The environment minister said although everything in the world has come to a standstill due to Covid-19 pandemic, Bangladesh’s development continues.

As a result of various measures taken by the government, he said, the average life expectancy of the country’s people has increased, while infant mortality and maternal mortality rates have decreased.

Homes are being provided to the homeless under various development projects, he added.

Shabab Uddin said the construction of two bridges at Brindar Ghat and Koylaghat points would greatly facilitate public communication.

Additional Chief Engineer Tushar Kanti Saha of Roads and Highways Department Sylhet Region, Moulvibazar Superintendent Engineer AKM Shamsuddin, Executive Engineer Ziauddin Ahmed, LGED Executive Engineer Md Azim Uddin Sardar, Juri Upazila Parishad Chairman Bir Muktijoddha MA Moeed Faruk, Upazila Awami League President Bir Muktijoddha Md Badrul Hossain, General Secretary Masuk Ahmed, Upazila Parishad Vice-Chairman Rinku Ranjan Das and Women Vice-Chairman Ranjita Sharma,among others, were present at the function.

On Wednesday, Shabab Uddin inaugurated three newly constructed buildings of Bholarkandi, Haripur and Mohammadnagar Community clinics in Baralekha Upazila.
