Taposh for following health rules during Vitamin A plus campaign
DHAKA, Sept 24, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC)
Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said today those involved in
feeding Vitamin ‘A’ capsules to children need to be more careful in
following the hygiene rules during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“All concerned need to be more careful about hygiene rules to make
the national Vitamin ‘A’ plus campaign a success amid COVID-19. They
also must be sincere towards the children and their parents during the
campaign,” he said.
He stated this at a meeting organized by DSCC marking the National
Vitamin A Plus Campaign-2020 at Mayor Hanif Auditorium of Nagar Bhaban
here.
Taposh said proper awareness could play a vital role in preventing
the COVID-19 epidemic.
The national Vitamin ‘A’ plus campaign will start across the country
from October 4 and to be continued till October 17. The children aged
between six and 59 months will get vitamin A plus capsules.
According to concerned officials, health workers will also visit
house to feed the capsules to those children who will miss it during
the campaign.
Some 2.4 million children aged between six and 12 months will be
given blue capsules, while around 19.3 million children aged between
one and five years will be given red capsules.
Children aged below six months or over five years or with any kind
of illness will not get the capsules.
