President mourns death of AL leader AKM Jahangir Hossain
DHAKA, Dec 24, 2020 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today expressed
profound shock and sorrow at the death of Awami League Central Working
Committee member and former state minister AKM Jahangir Hossain, MP.
In a condolence message, the President said, “AKM Jahangir Hossain
played a very courageous role in different democratic movements.”
The head of the state prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul
and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Awami League central committee member and former state minister for
textile and jute AKM Jahangir Hossain breathed his last at Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMUH) at 4.45pm while
undergoing treatment with COVID-19 positive. He was 66.
Jahangir was the general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League
(BCL), the student wing of Bangladesh Awami League in 80s.
