PM: Govt taking preparation to bring children back to schools

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said the government is taking preparations so that children can return to their educational institutions again and resume their academic activities normally.

“We hope that good day might come in the future, our children will be able to go to their schools, they will do their studies normally. We’re taking preparations to that end,” she said, reports UNB.

The Prime Minister said this while speaking virtually at the Graduation Ceremony of National Defence Course-2020 and Armed Forces War Course-2020 at National Defence College at Sheikh Hasina Complex DSCSC in Mirpur Cantonment from her official residence Ganobhaban.

She said that the government cannot open the schools for the COVID-19 and classes have been delivered through online and television.

“Above all, it creates a psychological pressure on the children if they cannot go to their schools,” she said.

In this connection, she mentioned that when the government was taking preparations to open the educational institutions, at that time the second wave of COVID-19 hit.

She again urged all to follow health instructions to avoid getting infected by coronavirus.

National Defence College commandant Lt Gen Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan also spoke at the programme.
