Shawkat Ali, former deputy speaker of the National Parliament, has been put on life support at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
The 84-year-old deputy speaker has been suffering from kidney, diabetics, pneumonia and high blood pressure for a long time.
As condition critical, his family members sough doa from the countrymen, said Tariq Mahmood, director of the Public Relations Branch of the Parliament.
Shawkat Ali has been elected lawmaker from Shariatpur-2 for five times.
