Chhatra adhikar leader Nazmul remanded over rape of DU student
DHAKA, Nov 5, 2020 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad joint convener Nazmul Hasan Sohag on a three-day remand in a case lodged over rape of a student of Dhaka University (DU).
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kanak Barua passed the order as police produced Nazmul before the court and pleaded to place him on a seven-day remand. Nazmul’s counsel however, argued for his bail.
After hearing both sides, the court placed Nazmul on three-day remand.
The victim student on September 21 filed the case with Kotwali Police Station against six people for rape and abetting the crime.
