Another 250kg bomb was recovered from underneath the ground in the under-construction 3rd terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Monday. The airport authorities have informed that the bomb was found during the piling works around 8am. A press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Bangladesh Air Force recovered a Genarel Purpose (GP) bomb weighing almost 250 kg came out from 10 feet under the ground. The bomb disposal unit of Air Force’s Bangabandhu Base rushed to the scene quickly and defused the bomb, the ISPR release said. Later, the bomb was taken to a safer place for dismantling it. The release also said bomb experts believe it was dropped sometime during the Liberation War in 1971. Earlier on December 9, workers found a 250kg bomb in the same construction site. LY |
