Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday said his party will be turned into smarter, more orderly and disciplined party under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He was addressing the council session of Joypurhat district unit of AL through a videoconferencing from his official residence on parliament premises in Dhaka.
Mentioning that the party’s post-position is not given lease to anyone to misuse the power, Quader said none will be allowed in committing offences and enhancing the sources of illegal income by misusing the party’s posts and positions.
He urged party leaders and workers not to give any room to extortionists, corrupt people and offenders in the party by any means.
Noting that Awami League believes in practice of democracy, the AL general secretary said his party remains ahead of any other political party of the country in respect of practicing democracy inside party.
He said the announcement of the party’s sub-committees began and if anyone has allegation or anything to say about the announced committees, he or she can appeal to the election tribunal at the AL president’s Dhanmondi political office as per the party constitution.
