Police on Thursday recovered the body of a housewife from Mymensingh’s Bhaluka upazila.

The deceased was identified as Ayesha Akhter Popy, 20, wife of Nishad, a resident of Purbo Bhaluka area.

Firoza Khatun, mother of the deceased, alleged that her daughter was murdered by members of her father-in-law’s house.

“Nishad and his father often tortured my daughter physically and mentally for having an auto rickshaw. They even barred my daughter from visiting my house. They murdered my daughter,” said Firoza.

Bhaluka Model Police Station OC Mohammad Maeen Uddin said they arrested the deceased’s husband in this connection.
