Housewife gangraped in Magura making husband hostage



A housewife has become the victim of an organised gangrape in Magura after she went to a field along with her husband to harvest paddy.

The victim filed a case with Magura Sadar Police Station in connection with the incident.

Husband of the victim alleged that he went to a paddy field in Magura Sadar from Shoilakupa upazila with his cart to harvest paddy and then take those back to the owner’s house from the field. This year, his wife also accompanied him. After cutting the paddy at a field in Jagdal area under Magura Sadar on Saturday, they built a tent at a local brick-field to sleep at night. Suddenly, five to seven unknown youths came there and took his wife to a nearby road holding him hostage showing a sharp knife. Later, they raped his wife one after another.

Police said the victim housewife filed a case with Magura Sadar Police Station in connection with the incident. Recording the case, police launched raids to arrest the rapists.

Magura Sadar Police Station’s officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Zainal Abedin said the victim housewife filed a rape case with his police station on Sunday morning. “We have started investigation sending police to the place of occurrence. We hope that we will be able to arrest the culprits and bring them before justice,” he said.
