Miscreants hacked a man and his son to death in Belkuchi upazila in Sirajganj district on Tuesday night.

The deceased were identified as Sirajul Shikder, 60, and his son Saeedi Shikder, 20, residents of Konabarichar village under Rajapur union in the upazila.

They came under attack at Randhunibari Noukaghat area around 8:00 pm while returning home from Mokimpur Bazar. The miscreants in a planned way took position on their way and hacked them indiscriminately. 

They escaped the place as local people rushed there hearing the victims’ screaming. After a while, both father and son died on the spot. 

Confirming the mater, Belkuchi Police Station officer in-charge Golam Mostafa said two robbery groups are active in the char land area. 

Sirajul, an accused in seven cases and a member of one of the groups, and his son might have been killed over internal dispute between two groups, said OC Mostafa.

However, police recovered the bodies and sent them to a hospital morgue, he added.
