Bkash distributor’s looted Tk 56.50 lakh recovered, three arrested – Countryside – observerbd.com

Cox’s Bazar Sadar police on Friday arrested three persons including Mohammad Ismail who fled away with Tk 60 lakh of NF Enterprise, a distributor of Bkash, in the district.

Besides, Tk 56.50 lakh were recovered from their possession.

Mastermind of the incident, Mohammad Ismail is the son of late Fakir Mohammad of Ward No. 5 under Cox’s Bazar Municipality.

He was a CNG driver and money runner of Bkash distributor NF Enterprise at Fazal Market.

His accomplices–Jasimuddin, 55, son of late Abul Hosayn, and his wife Sajeda Begum, 42, were arrested.

It was disclosed by Additional Police Super Md Rafiqul Islam at a press briefing held at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station premises on Friday afternoon.

He said instead of depositing Tk 60 lakh, NF Enterprise Ltd’s employee Mohammad Ismail fled away with Tk 60 lakh after drawing the amount from Cox’s Bazar branch of United Commercial Bank Limited at about 3:45pm on November 18.

Later, Nizam Uddin, general manager of NF Enterprise, filed a written complaint with Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station.

Afterward, two persons were identified examining the CCTV footage of the place of occurence and surrounding areas. Conducting a raid into the house of Jasim Uddin and Sajeda Begum, police recovered Tk 56 lakh 50 thousand. The money was kept hidden beneath the bed in their bedroom.

NF Enterprise owner Anwarul Islam said a cheque was given to Mohammad Ismail on Wednesday morning to draw the amount from Cox’s Bazar branch of United Commercial Bank Limited. Though he deposits money regularly after drawing from bank, this time he had done the completely opposite. He escaped with Tk 60 lakh after drawing from bank. Latrer, a written complaint was lodged with the police station concerned.
