Incentives amidst COVID-19 for expatriate returnees exemplary
DHAKA, Dec 19, 2020 (BSS) –The massive incentive package from government’s TK 700 crore fund for the welfare and reintegration of Bangladeshi expatriates who came from different countries amidst COVID-19, has set an unprecedented example across the world.
Md Mustafizur Rahman, Permanent Representative and Ambassador of Bangladesh to Geneva, said this at a virtual seminar, organized at the Bangladesh Permanent Mission in Geneva on the occasion of International Migrants Day 2020, according to a Press Information Department (PID) handout received here today.
Referring to various initiatives undertaken by the government to build skilled Bangladeshi workers besides the welfare of expatriates, he said the government has been working relentlessly in search of new markets for welfare of expatriates and manpower with ensuring more security. it added.
He applauded the expatriates of Bangladesh for their unprecedented contribution in keeping the wheel of the country’s economy vibrant by sending remittances at an increased rate even in the time of global pandemic like COVID-19.
