Coronavirus infection rising due to over-confidence among people: Health Minister – National – observerbd.com
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has said coronavirus infection is rising due to ‘over-confidence’ among people. He said the rates of coronavirus infection and death are increasing in the country. “It’s happening because we have become reckless in our behaviour. We have become over confident. I saw thousands of people in Cox’s Bazar several days ago. Coronavirus infection rises due to this tendency among people,” he said. The Health Minister made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on “Facing the second wave of coronavirus and vaccine” at Hotel Intercontinental in Dhaka on Sunday. Bangladesh Private Medical College Association (BPMCA) organised the discussion. The Health Minister said nobody was aware of the prevention of coronavirus infection at the beginning. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has also brought changes its definition on how to deal with coronavirus infection. It was told that many ventilators would be needed. But, subsequently the countries did not require so many ventilators. Now, here are 118 labs where 17,000 Covid-19 tests are taking place every day. SZA |
