Bangladesh reports more 39 COVID-19 deaths

Bangladesh on Wednesday reported 39 more deaths from COVID-19 in last 24 hours, raising the death toll 6,487.

During the period, 2,156 fresh cases were reported, taking the total virus cases to 454,146.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the figure through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Wednesday afternoon.

However, the recovery count increased to 3,69,179 with 2,302 more recoveries reported in a day.

In the last 24 hours, 117 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 16,001 samples.

Among the deaths, 27 male and 12 female. Of them, five are in their 40s, twelve in their 50s while 22 are above 60 years.
