Actor Abdul Kader no more



Actor Abdul Kader, who was undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, died on Saturday morning. He was 69.

He breathed his last around 8:20am at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, its chief medical officer Arif Mahmud confirmed.

Kader has been suffering from pancreatic cancer. He had been taken to Chennai on December 8 for better treatment. From there, he returned home on December 20. He tested positive for COVID-19 on December 21. Since then he had been undergoing treatment at the hospital.

He left behind wife, a son , a daughter and host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the death of the popular actor. 

Abdul Kader will be buried at Banani Graveyard in the evening.

He became popular playing the role of ‘Bodi’ in Humayun Ahmed’s drama series ‘Kothao Keu Nei’ in the ‘90s. He acted in films–‘Wrong Number’, ‘Bhalobasha Jindabad’ and others.
