S Korea donates study materials to Bangladeshi students

The Embassy of South Korea and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in collaboration with KOICA Bangladesh Alumni Association (KBAA) and Korean community in Bangladesh have donated school bags, stationery, face-masks, confectionery and sanitizers to the students of Sarkari Shishu Paribar.

South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Jang-keun, Country Director of KOICA Bangladesh Office Young-Ah Doh, President of the Association of the Koreans in Bangladesh Ryue Yong-oh and Member of Parliament Monzur Hossain, President of KOICA-Bangladesh Alumni Association, among others were present at the event held recently, said a media release on Sunday.

Ambassador Lee expressed his appreciation and mentioned how children are the future of a country and it is impossible to take the country forward without giving enough opportunities to flourish them.

The donation offered by the Embassy and KOICA signifies the bilateral ties between the Republic of Korea and Bangladesh.

At least seven KOICA volunteers have served Sarkari Shishu Paribar (Girls, Tejgaon) and one in Sarkari Shishu Paribar (Boys, Mirpur) since the establishment of KOICA. Besides, a KOICA volunteer has also served Sarkari Shishu Paribar in Tangail.

KOICA said it continues to extend its support to help Bangladesh bloom by contributing significantly in health, education, ICT, transport and many other vital sectors.

KOICA is a government aid agency of the Republic of Korea (ROK), founded in 1991 and established its Bangladesh office in 1993.

KOICA implements Korea’s grant aid and technical cooperation and is committed to support the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.
