DSCC identifies 19 new sectors for collecting tax

The authority of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has identified 19 new areas for gearing up its revenue collection efforts for fiscal year 2020-21 (FY ’21) aiming to provide better services to the city-dwellers.

As part of the move, the DSCC authority has formed a seven-member committee headed by its chief executive officer as member-secretary of the committee with a task to speed up the corporation’s revenue collection for the FY ’21.

The increased revenue collection target from the newly identified sources earmarked by the corporation has a certain objective to intensify development activities of the corporation to make the city a developed and liveable one.

The DSCC authority issued an office order signed by its secretary Akramuzzanan on Monday regarding the formation of the committee and new sources for collecting revenues.

The committee will work for collecting revenues from the newly identified sectors along with the existing ones.

The other members of the committee are DSCC secretary, its chief accounts officer, chief audit officer and law and social welfare officers.
