Bangabandhu T20 deferred for a week

Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon said, BCB wants to start Bangabandhu T20 league from November 15, However, the current situation has changed and Bangabandhu T20 League is going to postpone for one week.

This has been done in a bid to organize the tournament in a more organised way.

BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury Sujan gave such an indication on Tuesday afternoon. According to Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the advertisement given by the BCB for the sponsor of Bangabandhu T20 tournament has received the expected response. Team sponsors will be finalized soon.

However, he also said that it is very unlikely that the event will start before November 20. The BCB chief executive said, “You know that we have already advertised more than the sponsor of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup League and we are hopeful that we will be able to close the matter soon. I got the response as expected. However, we have not yet made a final decision. Maybe we will finalize it soon.”

The BCB CEO explained about the retreat of Bangabandhu T20 Cup League, “It is not right to retreat. It is planned that the event might start during November 20. Maybe the tournament will kick off in sometime between 20, 21, 22 November.”

Saying this, Nizamuddin Chowdhury Sujan added, “We are moving forward with a plan. There are some procedures to manage everything properly. We have to go ahead, considering everything.”
