Those opposing Bangabandhu’s sculpture are creating controversy over Bangladesh : Rezaul

DHAKA, Dec 4, 2020 (BSS) – Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim today said those who are trying to create controversy with Bangabandhu’s sculpture have been engaged in creating controversy on Bangabandhu and the Independence of Bangladesh as Bangabandhu and Bangladesh are an integral part.

“Bangabandhu’s sculpture is our inspiration of independence, so those who are trying to create controversy with Bangabandhu are trying to create controversy about the independence of the country,” he said as the chief guest while inaugurating a two-day annual research review workshop-2020 at Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) conference room in Savar.

The people who are creating unexpected debate over Bangabandhu’s sculpture having an ill motive, he said at the workshop organized by the BLRI. So, the millions of freedom lovers’ people will come forward to resist them if they further try to create anything of excess in this regard, the minister added.

Chaired by BLRI Director General Dr Nathu Ram Sarker, the workshop was addressed, among others, by Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Rawnak Mahmud, Department of Livestock Services (DLS) Director General Dr Abdul Jabbar Sikder, BLRI Additional Director M Azharul Amin and other ministry officials, researchers and project directors.

Rezaul said as per the constitution, every individuals in the country have equal right irrespective of their religious cast, creed faith, saying that “but we must have a belief on the spirit of the liberation war and communal harmony.”

“We have to work for building a country with a spirit of liberation war and communal harmony during the month of victory ,”he told the function.
