‘Sculpture-issue can be resolved thru dialogue’
DHAKA, Dec 08, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh United Islami Party(BUIP) Chairman Maulana Mohammad Ismail Hossain today said recent incident over vandalism of sculpture can be resolved through dialogue between the Alem Samaj (Islamic scholars) and the government.
“Misunderstanding on sculpture will be resolved through a discussion…..the government and Islamic scholars will be able to reach a consensus on sculpture issue,” he said while speaking at a press conference held at the National Press Club here.
He said Jamaat-BNP is conspiring on the sculpture issue as they are trying to gain political advantage capitalizing the matter.
The real fact is that an ‘Insidious Vested Quarter’ is making the sculpture-issue complicated to destabilize stable political situation in the country.
He also said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had done many things including establishing the Islamic Foundation for the development of Islamic community.
The Prime Minister has established the first Islamic Arabic University in Bangladesh, he mentioned.
He urged all concerned to be alert so that no innocent student of the madrasah is harassed in the incident of vandalism of sculpture.
Secretary General of the organization Allama Hazrat Maulana Mufti Shahadat Hossain, Pir Kamel Alhaj Hazrat Maulana Azizur Rahman Bulbuli (Jessore), Qazi Maulana Abdul Qayyum and Md Bashir Ahmed were present on the occasion.
