Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday described BNP as creator of arson terrorism saying if BNP could not come out from their evil acts, their politics would end in flame of fire.
“The people know BNP is the creator of arson terrorism and petrol bomb attacks,” he told a memorial meeting on former convener of Kabirhat upazila, Noakhali unit of AL Mafiz Ullah, who passed away recently.
Joining the meeting through a videoconferencing from his official residence on parliament premises in Dhaka, the minister said BNP is again out to launch arson attacks to kill people to take revenge of its defeat in the polls as the people boycotted them both in movement and election.
Setting fire on buses using gunpowder is the continuation of BNP’s evil politics as they proved it in 2013-14 period by carrying out petrol bomb attacks and resorting to arson terrorism, he said.
Quader said they are spreading rumors and misleading information to destroy the country’s peace and comfort for creating instability in the country.
He said law enforcement agencies are finding the source of funding in the anti-state and anti-people activities. Those who are funding in the evil acts will be brought to justice, he added.
Turning to different development activities in Noakhali district, the minister said different measures have already been taken for road infrastructural development in the district.
Works are underway to upgrade the Feni- Chowmuhani-Sonapur road and Chowmuhani to Cumilla road to four lane highways, he added.
Kabirhat Upazila Awami League President Nurul Amin Rumi chaired the memorial meeting while Noakhali district AL President Khairul Anam Selim, General Secretary Ekramul Karim Chowdhury, MP, and Kabirhat municipality mayor Jahirul Haque Raihan attended it among others.
