Present govt trying first to ease case backlog: Anisul
DHAKA, Dec 06, 2020 (BSS) – Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq today said the problem regarding the backlog of cases was not created in a day and the present government was the first which is trying to ease this crisis.
“It will take time to solve this problem as we cannot make one judge within a day. We cannot change any system overnight,” he said at a seminar titled ‘Development Planning Experience in Bangladesh’.
Organized by the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, the seminar was presided over by its secretary Md Moinul Kabir.
General Economic Division Senior Secretary Dr Shamsul Alam presented the keynote speech, while Joint Secretary of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division Dr Mohammad Mohiuddin gave vote of thanks.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after assuming power, started appointing new judges, providing them with training and logistic facility and also trying to ease the backlog of cases, the law minister said.
“For stopping hoarding, the government will not only interfere in the market, but also will punish the hoarders as per law. The government doesn’t do business to make profit, it only does business, where the private sector has nothing to do and has no contribution,” he added.
