Hasan mourns death of Soumitra Chattopadhyay
DHAKA, Nov, 15, 2020 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of legendary Indian Bengali actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay.
In a condolence message, the minister said, “Actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay will remain alive in the hearts of the people through his unique intellectual works”.
Hasan also said that the chapter of skill, wisdom and modesty that Soumitra Chattopadhyay has created in the acting arena is the perfect example of the entire cultural world.
The minister prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Soumitra Chattopadhyay breathed his last at Bellevue Nursing Home in Kolkata at 12:15pm today at the age of 86 after being tested positive for the Covid-19 on October 6.
