Four spots near Dhaka fixed for inter-district bus terminals
DHAKA, Dec 23, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka south city mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today said four places on the outskirts of the capital have been selected primarily to construct new inter-district bus terminals to bring order in the public transport system.
During a visit to Batulia area on the day, Dhaka north city mayor M Atiqul Islam said no buses from outside would be allowed to enter the capital once the company-based Dhaka city bus service would start running.
The two mayors visited Batulia following a proposal given by the Technical Committee to the Bus Route Rationalisation Committee to construct inter-district bus terminals and depots at 10 places.
Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh also said that they would call the next meeting of the Bus Route Rationalisation Committee in January, where they would finalise the spots for bus terminals.
The decision would be sent to the concerned ministry for final approval afterwards, he added.
