First phase of election at 24 municipalities ended on Monday afternoon with some sporadic incidents at some districts.

Voting began at 8am with a peaceful manner which ended at 4pm with incidents of vandalism, vote boycott.

A group of youths vandalised the car of returning officer Md Alamgir in Panchagarh, according to our correspondent reports.

BNP-backed mayor candidate Dewan Nazim Uddin Manzu boycotted the election bringing allegation of vote rigging.

No BNP agents were seen at polling centres in Sirajganj’s Shahzadpur.
