DHAKA, Oct 22, 2020 (BSS) – The Digital Bangladesh Day-2020 will be celebrated across the country on December 12.
The decision to observe the day was taken at the preparatory meeting of the ‘4th Digital Bangladesh Day 2020’celebration committee held on digital platform here today.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak presided over the meeting.
The State Minister gave instructions to all for celebrating the day in a befitting manner and with utmost sincerity.
The meeting has also decided to place floral wreath by the ICT division at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi road-32 marking the day.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the main opening programme and prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest on the day.
The programmes on the day will include bringing out supplements in national dailies highlighting successes and achievements of twelve years in building Digital Bangladesh, talk shows on different electronic media, holding two webinars– one in Bengali and other in English– signifying aims and objectives of the day, online quiz competition, essay writing competition on various topics on digital Bangladesh at districts and upazilas, lecture, art competition, discussions and seminars, workshops, staging of dramas and prize distribution among persons, organizations and entrepreneurs.
Senior Secretary of the ICT Division NM Ziaul Alam, Director General of the ICT Department ABM Arshad Hossen, officials from ICT division and its subordinate bodies, representatives from different ICT related organizations, among others, joined the online meeting.
