Bengali nation celebrated victory to the fullest through Bangabandhu’s homecoming: Tofail

BHOLA, Jan 10, 2021 (BSS) – Amami League Advisory Council Member Tofail Ahmed here today said through Bangabandhu’s return to his homeland, the Bengali nation celebrated its victory to the fullest.

“The nation felt the taste of complete victory when Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman returned to a sovereign Bangladesh 49 years ago on January 10, 1972 after spending nine and a half months in Pakistani jail,” he said.

Tofail was speaking as chief guest at a programme, organized on the occasion of
Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day, in Bhola govt school field this noon through video
conference. District Awami League organised the programme.

The AL leader said, “Bangabandhu perceived from heart that Pakistan was not
created for the Bengalis. Sheikh Mujib believed that this land
(Bangladesh) would be dominated by the Bengalis one day.”

Tofail said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman united the Bengalis through various
movements.

Presided over by the president of district unit of AL Md Dost Mahmud, the meeting was addressed by district general secretary Abdul Momin Tulu and organising secretary Moinul Hossain Biplob.

Later, a colourful procession paraded the town.
