Woman hangs herself after strangling daughter A woman has allegedly committed suicide after strangling her two-year-old daughter in Mehendiganj upaizla of Barishal following a family feud. Police recovered the bodies from their house at ward-7 in Badarpur area on Thursday morning. The deceased were identified as Salma Begum,25, wife of Amjad Hossain, and their daughter Jannat Afrin,2. Salma’s mother-in-law Rokeya Begum said the couple has been quarlling for last one month when her son started coming home late at night. She said they had an altercation on Wednesday night when Amjad came home around 9pm. At one stage, Amjad went to his younger sister’s house and stayed there at night. On Thursday morning, Rokeya entered Amjad’s room and found Afrin lying on the floor while Salma was hanging from the ceiling of the room. Later, police recovered the bodies.
