Woman detained on charge of killing husband
Police arrested a woman in Senbag upazila of Noakhali district on Saturday night on charge of killing her husband.
Arrested Rezia Begum, 30, was the second wife of Md Tajul Islam, a resident of Kesharpar union in the upazila. Tajul had a business of auto-rickshaw.
Tajul married three times. He lived in a rented house with his second wife in RS Tower in Kankir Haat, said Senbag Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Abdul Baten Mridha.
On October 28, Tajul fell off the fourth floor of RS Tower and received critical injuries.
He was immediately taken to Senbag Upazila Health Complex and, later, to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU).
Rezia went to Noakhali and took over Tajul’s business.
Could not bearing the hospital expenses, Tajul was taken to their rented house where Rezia did not let him in.
Locals, again, took him to BSMMU where Tajul died on Saturday morning.
The OC said Rezia was detained for questioning following a complaint lodged by the daughter of his (Tajul) first wife.
