Names of tea workers’ killed in ’71 massacre unveiled

Moulvibazar district administration has unveiled a list of the names of tea workers killed in Srimangal’s Bharaura killing field by the Pakistani occupation force during the Liberation War in 1971.

Sreemangal UNO Nazrul Islam opened the plaque on Wednesday, the 50th Victory Day.

Assitant commissioner (land) M Nesar Uddin, upazila acting chairman Sagar Hazra, female vice chairman Mitali Dutta, Sreemangal UP chairman Bhanulal Roy Tea Workers Union’s organising secretary Bijoy Hazra, also a son of a martyr, were present.
The UNO said, ” It is an initiative of upholding the real history of the Liberation war in front of the new generation.
