Three persons including the prime accused of killing three people at village Moshiali under Khan Jahan Ali Police Station in Khulna have been arrested in Dhaka.

The prime accused Sheikh Zakaria, his brother Milton and another accused Raju were arrested by the Khulna City detective branch of police from a 18-storeyed residential apartment at Mirpur on Friday morning.

Investigating officer of the case Enamul Huq said three people were shot dead at Moshiali area under Khan Jahan Ali Police Staion of Khulna city on July 16 this year. Following the incident, Sheikh Zakaria went into hiding. After long efforts, Zakaria was arrested from Dhaka. Arrested Zakaria and two others were taken to Khulna city. They would be questioned what were the reasons of the murders and who were involved in it.

Enamul Huq further said 13, out of 22 accused of the case have so far been arrested. Efforts are going on to arrest other accused.

At night on July 16 last, Md Nazrul Islam, son of Barek Sheikh and Golam Rasul, son of Yunus Ali of village Moshiali under Gilatola union were killed in firing by Sheikh Zakaria’s followers near Eastern Gate in Khulna city. At that time, several others–Md Saiful Islam, Afsar Sheikh, Shamim, Robi, Khalilur Rahman and Moshiar Rahman received bullet injuries. Bullet-ridden Saiful Islam died on the following morning.

Md Shahidul Islam, son of Saiful Islam, later filed a murder case with Khan Jahan Ali Police Station naming 22 persons and 15 to 16 other unidentified persons as accused.
