Man ‘killed by cousin’ in Gopalganj A man was reportedly killed after his cousin beat him at Kashiani upazila in Gopalganj district on Monday night. Deceased Shahid Sheikh, 35, was the son of Abdur Razzaq, a resident of Bagia village in Moheshpur union under the upazila. Local sources said Shahid and his maternal cousin Rabiul Sehikh, 45, locked into an altercation on Monday evening over family issues and subsequently they engaged in a scuffle. The matter was resolved by local arbitrators. Later at night, Rabiul and four-five people attacked on Shahid and beat him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured. He was, first, taken to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex and later, he was referred to Dhaka following deterioration of his health condition. Shahid succumbed to his injuries on the way to Dhaka. Confirming the matter, Kashiani Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Md Azizur Rahman said filing of a case is underway in this connection. |
