Gopalganj district administration, Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies paid homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara marking the jail killing day.

On behalf of the district administration, Deputy Commissioner Shahida Sultana laid wreath at Bangabandhu’s tomb around 11am and, consecutively, Tungipara Upazila AL, Municipality AL and Krishak League also placed wreath separately.

Sura Fatiha and special prayer were offered seeking the eternal peace of Bangabandhu, his family members and four national leaders –Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmad, Captain (Rtd) Monsur Ali and AHM Quamruzzaman.

On November 3, 1975, four national leaders, and heroes of the country’s Liberation War were assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Kazi Shahidul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mst  Shammi Akter, Tungipara Upazila AL President Abul Bashar Khair, General Secretary Md Babul Sheikh, Tungipara Upazila Chairman Solaiman Biswas and other district administration officials and party leaders were present there.
