A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver was killed as a the vehicle plunged into a roadside ditch in Sarishabari upazila of Jamalpur district early Wednesday.
Deceased Kabir Hossain, 50, was a resident of Basuria village under Pingna union on the upazila.
Locals said the auto-rickshaw fell into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering due to foggy weather, leaving Kabir critically injured.
He was rescued and taken to Sheikh Medical College Hospital in Tangail where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
