12 injured in village clash in Gopalganj At least 12 people have been injured in a clash between two groups at Tungipara upazila in Gopalganj district.
The incident took place at Bashuria Bazar under Borni union Thursday night.
Locals said an altercation took place between inhabitants of Mrittika and Bashuria villages under Borni union over establishing supremacy in the union . The altercation, later, turned into a scuffle.
In a sequel to the incident, inhabitants of the two villages, equipped with lethal weapons, swooped on each other, leaving 12 people of the both groups injured.
Some of them were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
Being informed, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control, said Tungipara Police Station officer in-charge AFM Nasim.
